Ca₂(Mn,Fe)(PO₄)₂.2H₂O

These samples of fairfieldite are displayed in the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. Fairfieldite is a phosphate mineral with the composition Ca₂(Mn,Fe)(PO₄)₂.2H₂O. The sample at left is about 6-8 cm across and is from Foote Mineral Co. spodumene mine, Kings Mountain, North Carolina.

This fairfieldite specimen is also from Foote Mineral Co. spodumene mine, Kings Mountain, North Carolina. It is about 6x15 cm in size.
